An object of the present invention is to provide a novel method for producing an oxide of an organic compound. The complex catalyst comprises a step of bringing an organic compound into contact with an oxidizing agent in the presence of a complex catalyst, wherein the complex catalyst comprises a ligand precursor represented by the following general formula (1) and a divalent iron compound or divalent copper. A method for producing an oxide of an organic compound, which is a metal pentanuclear complex catalyst obtained by reacting a compound with the compound, wherein the organic compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon compounds and sulfur-containing organic compounds. [In the general formula (1), R 1 to R 9 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an alkoxy group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. ] [Selection diagram] None |
