abstract | Provided is an ink jet recording method capable of suppressing variations in ink ejection speed and recording an image with good black appearance. An ink jet recording method for heating an ink and discharging the heated ink from a recording head by the action of thermal energy of a recording element to record an image on a recording medium. As the recording element, a recording element having a smaller width in a direction perpendicular to the ink supply direction than in the ink supply direction is used. The ink contains carbon black, an acrylic resin for dispersing the carbon black, and a urethane resin. The weight average molecular weight Mw U of the urethane resin is a ratio of 2. to the weight average molecular weight Mw A of the acrylic resin.
