The present invention provides a block copolymer, particularly a block copolymer for use as a dispersant for an inorganic binder composition. The present invention relates to a block copolymer, especially a block copolymer for use as a dispersant for an inorganic binder composition, comprising at least one first block A and at least one second block A. The present invention relates to a block copolymer comprising a block B, wherein a first block A has a monomer unit M1 and a second block B has a monomer unit M2. In order to achieve the object of the present invention, the proportion of the monomer units M2 present in any case in the first block A is less than 25 mol%, especially 10 mol% or less, based on the entire monomer units M1 in the first block A. The proportion of the monomer units M1 present and present in any case in the second block B is less than 25 mol%, especially 10 mol% or less, based on the entire monomer units M2 in the second block B.
