The present invention relates to a process for producing a core-composite shell microcapsule slurry for delivering hydrophobic active ingredients such as fragrance ingredients of perfume oils. The method includes forming an outer shell by coacervation surrounding an inner phase containing a hydrophobic active ingredient, and forming an inner shell by interfacial polymerization at the interface between the inner phase and the outer shell. The internal phase contains a hydrophobic active ingredient. Microcapsules are typically incorporated into consumer products, where the composite shell prevents the hydrophobic active ingredient from being generally released during use of the consumer product until desired. . |
