titleOfInvention | Plan adherence measurement for insulin treatment based on glucose measurements and insulin pen data |
abstract | Systems and methods are provided for adjusting a subject's regular insulin medication dosage plan. Fasting events are identified using the subject's autonomous time-stamped glucose measurement in the first data set. A second data set from one or more insulin pens used to apply the daily plan comprises a record, and each record comprises a time stamped event that specifies the amount of insulin drug injected. Each fasting event is characterized as adherence or non-adherence. A fasting event is adherence when the second data set includes one or more records that establish adherence to the regular plan over time during the fasting event. Conversely, a fasting event is non-adherent if the second data set does not establish adherence to the regular plan in time and quantity. Dosages in the regular regimen are adjusted by using glucose measurements that are coincident with adherence fasting events and by excluding glucose measurements that are coincident with non-adherence fasting events.
