titleOfInvention | HER-2 binding antibody |
abstract | The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to HER2, or a fragment or derivative thereof, or a polypeptide comprising at least a portion of said antibody sufficient to confer specific HER2 binding to the polypeptide. The antibodies bind to human Fc receptors to induce FcR-mediated signaling pathways. The antibodies according to the invention bind to a different epitope than trastuzumab. The invention also relates to the use of the antibody according to the invention in the treatment of HER-2 mediated diseases. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody according to the invention, and to the use of said composition in the treatment of HER-2 mediated diseases.
