titleOfInvention Optical flow cell and test head device
abstract A sample cell device 100 for use in the spectroscopic determination of an analyte in a body fluid sample comprises a first plate member 10 of optically transparent material and a first plate of optically transparent material And a second plate member 20 facing the member 10. Channels 12, 22 extending between the face of the first plate member 10 and the opposite face of the second plate member accommodate the floating seal 30. The floating seal 30 encloses a fluid chamber 50 which stores a sample of body fluid for optical measurement. The fluid chamber 50 can be opened for cleaning by separating the first plate member 10 from the second plate member 20. During the measurement, the fluid chamber 50 presses the first plate member 10 against the second plate member 20 without pressing the floating seal 30 between the first plate member 10 and the second plate member 20. Thereby, it is closed to define a reproducible optical path length therethrough. [Selected figure] Figure 1A
