abstract A contact lens (120) for use with a surgical microscope may be provided with an anti-fog device (200) to not obscure the surgeon's field of vision by condensation during ophthalmic surgery. The antifog device may provide thermal energy to the surface of the contact lens to heat the contact lens above the ambient dew point. The thermal energy may be supplied by an air duct having a fan nozzle, a heat transfer fluid circulating fluid duct, a fluid duct in thermodynamic contact with the contact lens, or electricity disposed on the surface of the contact lens It may be generated by electrical energy to the heating element (202). Thermal energy or electrical energy may be provided by a handle for supporting the contact lens during surgery.
