Catheter hub assembly. The catheter hub assembly includes a catheter hub body, a septum, and a septum retainer, the catheter hub body having a distal end, a proximal end, and an inner sidewall defining an inner fluid path therebetween. The inner wall defines a transitional step in the inner fluid path, and the septum is positioned in the inner fluid path such that the distal end of the septum abuts against the transitional step The septum retaining portion has an outer wall that is at least partially receivable within the inner fluid path and shaped and sized to mate with the inner wall of the catheter hub body, the outer wall being against the catheter hub body It includes one or more transverse ribs configured to inhibit rotation of the septum support.
