Perspective adjustment lens with cavity |
abstract |
The lens includes an internal cavity structure formed by dissolution of a soluble insert material. To form a cavity in the contact lens, the internal soluble material can be dissolved through the body of a lens, such as a contact lens. The cavities in the lens can be shaped in many ways and correspond to the shape of the dissolved material so that many internal cavity shapes can be easily assembled into contact lenses. The insert can be placed in a mold with a prepolymer material that is cured together with the insert placed in the mold to form a lens body. The polymerized polymer can include a low expansion polymer to prevent lens expansion when hydrated. When hydrated, the polymer can include a hydrogel. The soft contact lens material includes a sufficient amount of cross-linking to provide structure to the lens and mold the cavity. |
