| abstract |
A papermaking machine fabric or belt comprising a first layer forming a web contact surface and a second layer supporting the first layer. The first layer is made of an extruded polymer and has a plurality of first elements arranged in a first direction and a plurality of second elements arranged in a second direction and extending on the plurality of first elements. Two elements and a plurality of openings defined by a plurality of first elements and a plurality of second elements. The second layer is made of woven fabric. In the first layer, the first layer extends only partially into the second layer, and an interface formed between the first layer and the second layer has an adhesive portion and a non-adhesive portion. And is adhered to the second layer to include an airflow passage extending in a plane parallel to the first and second layers. |
