A “reverse” precipitation route is described for precipitating water-soluble species having copolymers such as nanoparticles having a hydrophilic polar core and a low polarity shell. These nanoparticles aggregate to form larger microparticles and monoliths to provide high load constructs (eg, depots) for sustained and controlled release of the active agent. The present invention also provides a microparticle comprising an aggregate of reverse nanoparticles, each reverse nanoparticle comprising a core comprising a high polarity region of the copolymer and a shell comprising a low polarity region of the copolymer, wherein the water soluble material comprises Fine particles within the core may be provided. |
