abstract | A syringe for storing and delivering fluid is provided that includes (1) a stop and (2) a plunger rod assembly. The plunger rod assembly includes a plunger rod and a screw member at the plunger engaging end. The stop may be formed from an elastic material. The stop has an outer surface and a lumen. The lumen of the stop may have a generally frustoconical shape with at least one engagement surface. The screw member contacts at least one engagement surface within the lumen of the stop and supports the plunger rod assembly by non-threaded engagement integral with the stop.
