The present invention relates to an ion exchange resin for producing bisphenol having a high conversion rate and a high selectivity to bisphenol, in particular 4,4′isopropylidenediphenol. The ion exchange resin has a sulfonic acid group modified with at least one accelerator selected from compounds represented by structures (I), (II), (III), and (IV), or amine salts thereof. The aromatic polymer which has. [Chemical 9] Here, R is a hydrocarbon unit having 1 to 6 carbon atoms selected from an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, and a phenyl group, or optionally a carbon atom containing a carbonyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Represents hydrogen, X represents a heteroatom, and n is an integer of 1 to 4. |
