A method and apparatus for non-destructive detection of undissolved particles in a fluid. The devices, methods, and computer program products disclosed herein include, but are not limited to, glass flakes and / or protein aggregates in a fluid in a solution, such as a fluid containing a drug. It can be used to non-destructively detect undissolved particles. In an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus includes an imager to obtain time-series data representing a trajectory of the particles in the fluid. A memory operatively coupled to the imaging device stores the time series data, and a processor operatively coupled to the memory detects and / or identifies the particles.
