Provided is an ink container that contains aqueous ink in which the generation or proliferation of fungi is effectively suppressed and clogging of a filter or the like during filtration is hardly generated. An ink container (ink cartridge) includes an aqueous ink for ink jet (ink) and a container body (ink cartridge body) for storing the aqueous ink (ink) therein. The aqueous ink contains a coloring material and bubbles composed of gases such as oxygen gas, nitrogen gas and air, and the ratio (%) of the bubbles having a particle diameter of 500 nm or less to the total of the bubbles is based on the number, 50% or more.
