abstract | A wooden building material capable of suppressing elution of a water-soluble resin and having high dimensional stability, and a method of manufacturing the wooden building material. A wooden building material includes a modified wood having a wood and a first impregnating agent and a second impregnating agent penetrating into the wood. The first impregnating agent has a bulk effect of 70% or more, and a weight reduction ratio before and after a weathering operation prescribed in JIS K1571 of 40% or more. The second impregnating agent has a bulk effect of 30% or less and a weight reduction ratio before and after the weathering operation specified in JIS K1571 of 10% or less. The bulk effect is a ratio of the volume expansion rate of the wood not impregnated with the impregnating agent and the volume expansion rate of the wood impregnated with the impregnating agent, which is measured according to JIS Z2101 as shown in Expression 1.
