Positioning material and method of use thereof |
abstract |
A positioning material and a method of using the same are provided. A non-hardening material for placing a surgical mesh prosthesis in a tissue defect without the surgeon pre-measuring the suture location and pre-suture during hernia repair surgery. Allows surgical mesh prostheses to be placed at optimal locations in tissue defects. The surgical mesh prosthesis can be repositioned by removing the mesh along the tissue defect and repositioning and sliding without damaging the tissue. The positioning material provides the necessary adhesive strength to temporarily hold the surgical mesh in place, otherwise not supported, but to the tissue at the target tissue location, and damages the tissue. Viscosity that allows the surgical mesh to be removed and repositioned or slidable along the tissue when the surgical mesh is subjected to an external force other than gravity to move the surgical mesh so that it does not move Adhesive and lubricious features that provide [Selection] Figure 1 |
