abstract | A low calorie beverage composition is provided. A beverage composition comprising water, the present material, a sweetener having a sweetness of 40 or more, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), wherein the HPMC masks the unpleasant taste or aftertaste caused by the sweetener. The content of the material is 0.01 to 10 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the beverage composition, and the content of the sweetener is 0.00 with respect to 100 parts by weight of the beverage composition. The content of the hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is 0.01 to 2 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the beverage composition.
