abstract | An electrode having high performance under low humidity conditions, a membrane electrode assembly using the electrode, an electrochemical cell, a stack, a fuel cell, a vehicle, and a flying object are provided. A catalyst layer including a plurality of catalyst units having a porous structure or a laminated structure including a void layer, a water retention layer including a conductive material and a hydrophilic material, and a gas diffusion layer are included. The water retention layer is disposed between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer. The size of the catalyst unit is 50 nm or more and 2 μm or less. The average primary particle diameter of the conductive material is 10 nm or more and 300 nm or less. The ratio of the average primary particle diameter of the conductive material of the water retention layer to the size of the catalyst unit is 0.005 or more and 6 or less. [Selection] Figure 1 |
