A transformant having Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a host, encoding a gene encoding malonyl CoA reductase, a gene encoding acetyl CoA carboxylase, a gene encoding pyruvate oxidase, and an acetyl CoA synthetase A gene encoding malonyl-CoA reductase, a gene encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase, and a gene group capable of forming a pyruvate dehydrogenase complex are introduced. A transformant characterized by being an enzyme that catalyzes a reaction for producing acetic acid from an acid and water. [Selection figure] None
