titleOfInvention | Method for preparation of heat-stable lignin fraction |
abstract | A thermally stable fraction of high purity lignin is prepared by a method that can be applied by industrial means. The present invention provides a method for fractionating high purity lignin into stable fractions. The present invention further provides a method for assessing the stability of the lignin fraction in a manner normally applied to synthetic polymers with a more uniform structure. The present invention further provides an overall process for extracting high purity lignin from biomass and fractionating it into distinctly different and stable high purity lignin fractions. The present invention also provides a lignin composition having a stable glass transition temperature as determined using differential scanning calorimetry according to DIN 53765-1994. In some embodiments, the temperature difference between the glass transition of the first cycle and the glass transition of the second cycle is less than 5 ° C. [Selection figure] None |
