A liquid discharge apparatus capable of reducing nozzle clogging of a liquid discharge head and reducing the penetration of liquid into an object to be discharged. A coating stage roll 24 with a heating mechanism is disposed immediately below a liquid discharge head 34, the discharge target 500 before ink is discharged is heated, and the ink landed on the discharge target 500 is discharged. By starting the evaporation of the solvent at an early stage, the viscosity of the ink that has landed on the ejection target object 500 is rapidly increased. Further, the ink before being ejected by the liquid ejection head 34 is cooled to a predetermined temperature or less by a fan, so that the possibility of nozzle clogging due to drying of the ink is reduced.
