abstract |
A cross-linked organic polymer composition is provided. The present invention relates to a crosslinking composition comprising a crosslinking compound and a crosslinking reaction additive selected from organic acids and / or acetate compounds, wherein the crosslinking reaction additive reacts with the crosslinking compound to react with the reactive oligomer intermediate. A cross-linking composition, which can form a body and this intermediate can cross-link organic polymers. Also included are organic polymer compositions for use in forming a crosslinked organic polymer comprising a crosslinking compound, a crosslinking reaction additive, and at least one organic polymer. In one embodiment, the at least one organic polymer has at least one halogen-containing reactive group and is dehalogenated by reaction with an alkali metal compound. Also included are methods of making such compositions and products formed from such methods and organic polymer compositions, where the composition and method control the crosslinking reaction rate of the crosslinking compound used in crosslinking the organic polymer.
