The present invention provides a method for producing a composite in which a metal oxide phosphor is formed on a substrate, which can form a metal oxide phosphor with a thinner thickness. A method for producing a composite in which a metal oxide phosphor is formed on a substrate, wherein a metal chelate solution containing a metal component constituting the metal oxide phosphor and a chelating agent is applied to the substrate.
