PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Li 5 FeO 4 useful as a positive electrode and other materials of a lithium ion secondary battery. A carbon-coated Li 5 FeO 4 containing a carbon film covering the surface of the the Li 5 FeO 4 Li 5 FeO 4 . Carbon-coated Li 5 FeO 4 having a BET specific surface area in the range of 1 to 12 m 2 / g, and excellent conductivity can be obtained by coating a carbon film, and carbon-coated Li can exhibit sufficient capacity as a positive electrode material 5 FeO 4 .
