abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a conjugated diene or a conjugated triene can be industrially produced in a short process from a raw material which is easily available and easy to handle. SOLUTION: A conjugated diene is produced from 3-alkenal through a reaction in the order of a first step, a second step and a third step. First step: A step of reacting a Grignard reagent with 3-alkenal to obtain a homoallylic alcohol. Second step: a step of reacting a homoallylic alcohol with an esterifying agent or a halogenating agent to obtain a sulfonic acid ester or a halide.
