Coated medical devices and methods of making and using coated medical devices |
abstract |
The present invention provides coated medical devices without webbing and delamination, and methods of making and using the coated medical devices. A device including a stent may include a sidewall and a plurality of holes in the sidewall, the plurality of holes being thrombus on an aneurysm when the tubular member is positioned in a blood vessel and adjacent to an aneurysm. To the extent sufficient to lead to formation and treatment, it is sized to inhibit blood flow through the side wall to the aneurysm. The device may also include an antithrombotic coating, wherein the antithrombotic coating is distributed over at least a portion of the device such that the pores are substantially free of the web formed by the coating.
