PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating composition capable of forming a coating film having excellent coating performance even at low temperature curing. An aqueous coating composition comprising an aqueous resin (A1) having a hydroxyl group and a carboxyl group, a polyisocyanate compound (B), a hydrophilized modified carbodiimide compound (C), and an aqueous novolac epoxy resin (D).
