abstract | An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for producing a binder resin which can obtain a toner excellent in all of low temperature fixability, roller removability, and pulverizability, binder resin, and electrostatic charge containing the binder resin. The present invention relates to a toner for image development. [1] A method for producing a binder resin comprising the following steps 1 and 2, wherein the binder resin comprises 40 or more components having a molecular weight of 10,000 or more in a molecular weight distribution measured by gel permeation chromatography. The manufacturing method of the binder resin which has the peak top of molecular weight distribution in the range of 7,500 or more and 10,000 or less containing%. Step 1: A step of mixing fumaric acid with an aromatic alcohol containing an alkylene oxide adduct of bisphenol A. Step 2: A step of further adding a carboxylic acid to the mixture obtained in Step 1 and mixing until the softening point of the binder resin in the system falls within a predetermined range.
