abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a chemical heat storage material capable of showing a higher reaction rate and realizing heat storage at a lower temperature in a chemical heat storage material which performs heat storage utilizing a dehydration reaction of an alkaline earth metal hydroxide. A chemical thermal storage material includes a composite metal hydroxide and / or a composite metal oxide of an alkaline earth metal and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of iron and zinc. The amount of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of iron and zinc may be 0.1 to 40% by mole based on the alkaline earth metal.
