abstract A light emitting device capable of improving the bonding strength between a substrate and a covering member is provided. A substantially rectangular upper surface, a lower surface located on the opposite side of the upper surface, a first long side surface adjacent to the long side of the upper surface and orthogonal to the upper surface, and a second located on the opposite side of the first long side surface. A base material having a long side surface, a first short side surface adjacent to the short side of the upper surface and orthogonal to the upper surface, and a second short side surface located on the opposite side of the first short side surface; A substrate including one wiring and a second wiring disposed on the lower surface and electrically connected to the first wiring; and at least one electrically connected to the first wiring and placed on the first wiring. A light-emitting device comprising two light-emitting elements and a light-reflective coating member that covers the side surfaces of the light-emitting elements and the upper surface of the base material, wherein the base material has at least one first opening that opens on the upper surface and the first long side surface.
