Fibrosis detection and treatment |
abstract |
The present invention provides a method for treating a subject who develops or is at risk for fibrosis. A method of administering to a subject an cadherin-11 antagonist in an amount effective to treat or prevent or delay the onset of symptoms associated with fibrosis. The fibrosis is dermatofibrosis, scleroderma, non-cutaneous fibrosis, or pulmonary fibrosis or liver fibrosis. A cadherin-11 antagonist is a cadherin-11 binding peptide. The cadherin-11 binding peptide is an anti-cadherin-11 antibody or antigen-binding antibody fragment. The cadherin-11 binding peptide is a cadherin-11 fusion protein. The cadherin-11 binding peptide is a cadherin-11 fusion protein. The cadherin-11 binding peptide comprises full length cadherin or a fragment thereof. A cadherin-11 antagonist is a cadherin-11 nucleic acid antagonist. The cadherin-11 nucleic acid antagonist is cadherin-11 siRNA. [Selection figure] None |
