To provide an ink set for ink jet recording and an ink jet recording method in which ejection stability and color development of printed matter are improved. The ink set for ink jet recording of the present invention is an ink set for ink jet recording containing a dye ink and a pigment ink, and the dye ink is 1.4% by mass or more based on the total mass of the ink.
