abstract |
An object of the present invention is to prevent a solid content in ink from sufficiently aggregating due to an insufficient amount of a reaction liquid and entering into a porous body when a solvent in the ink is removed. An ink applying means for applying a first ink containing at least a resin as a solid content on a medium to be ejected, and a reaction liquid that reacts with a component in the first ink and agglomerates the solid content in the ink. A reaction liquid applying means for applying the liquid onto the discharge medium; and a liquid absorption means for absorbing the liquid by bringing the liquid absorption member of the porous body into contact with the ink image formed on the discharge medium with the ink and the reaction liquid. In a printing apparatus, a test pattern in which a layer is formed with a first ink and a reaction liquid on a medium to be ejected, and a first ink and another second ink are applied to a part of the layer by an ink application unit To print.
