A yeast strain genetically engineered to produce non-hydroxylated collagen. An all-in-one vector comprising DNA necessary for producing collagen, a promoter, and a hydroxylating enzyme. The yeast strain is selected from the group consisting of those derived from the genus Arxra, Candida, Komagataela, Pichia, Hansenula, Ogataea, Saccharomyces, Cryptococcus and combinations thereof. The DNA sequence of the collagen is selected from the group consisting of bovine, porcine, kangaroo, crocodile, crocodile, elephant, giraffe, zebra, llama, alpaca, lamb, dinosaur collagen, marine organisms, bacteria and combinations thereof.
