Composite Micro Vaporizer Wick |
abstract |
A composite wick for use in a microvaporizer having a fluid reservoir and a heating element is provided. The composite wick 100 includes a wick body that can be positioned such that an upstream surface 112 is in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir and a downstream surface 114 is disposed opposite the surface of the heating element. The wick body includes at least one base wick structure 110 having a plurality of serpentine passages that collectively provide capillary action to draw fluid from the reservoir and transport it toward the downstream surface. The wick body further includes an active material 120 positioned within the wick body to contact and interact with a vaporizable fluid drawn through the wick body. The active material is selected to impart the desired properties to the vaporizable fluid. [Selection] Figure 2 |
