System and method for optimized patient-specific tissue manipulation vascular graft |
abstract |
It has been established that optimization of cell seeding on tissue engineered vascular grafts (TEVG) involves a reduction in TEVG's inflammatory response and a reduction in post-operative stenosis. Cell seeding increases TEVG patency in a dose-dependent manner, and TEVG patency is improved when more cells are seeded, but the incubation duration is minimal relative to TEVG patency. Shows only the impact. A method is provided for creating a patient specific TEVG that includes an optimal number of cells to maintain graft patency and reduce post-operative stenosis. A sealed single use, customizable system for TEVG seeding is also provided. Preferably, the system is custom designed based on patient-specific graft morphology so that cell seeding efficacy is increased. |
