titleOfInvention Model-based method and apparatus for classifying interfering factors in a sample
abstract A model-based method is provided for testing an analyte for the presence of one or more interfering factors, such as hemolysis, jaundice and / or lipemia (HIL). The method generates a pixelated image of a specimen in a first color space, determines a color component (eg, a value and b value) of a pixel in the pixelated image, and makes the pixel a liquid or non-liquid Classifying as, defining one or more liquid regions based on the pixels classified as liquid, and determining the presence of one or more interfering factors in the one or more liquid regions. Liquid classification is based on a liquid classification model. Pixel classification may be based on a trained multi-class classifier. Interfering factor levels of one or more interfering factors may be provided. A test apparatus adapted to perform the method is shown in the same manner as the other aspects. [Selection] Figure 3A
