abstract Techniques for classifying entities are provided. The inlet is configured to receive fluid and the outlet is configured to exit fluid. A nanopillar array coupled to the inlet and outlet is configured to allow fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet. A nanopillar array includes nanopillars arranged to separate entities by size. The nanopillars are arranged such that the gap separates one nanopillar from the other nanopillar. The gap is constructed to be in the nanoscale range. [Selection] Figure 1
