abstract |
A contact lens for ocular iontophoretic treatment is provided and implemented in a container configured to contain a charged therapeutic compound, an iontophoretic current provided to the charged therapeutic composition in the eyeball A current source that affects the delivery of the charged therapeutic composition to and a detection circuit that controls the current source to maintain a selected pH range of the charged therapeutic composition. An alternative embodiment includes an active sacrificial electrode for generating sufficient ions to provide a motor repulsion that forces the charged compound to move into the eye tissue. |
