titleOfInvention | Process for producing improved vitamins D2 and D3 |
abstract | It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing vitamin D that improves yield and reduces byproduct contamination. In various embodiments, the methods, the dihydroxy derivative manufactured as provitamin D 2 vitamin D 2 with its dihydroxy derivative as ergosterol or starting materials or as provitamin D 3 as 7-dehydrocholesterol or starting materials The production of the used vitamin D 3 is provided. The method described herein irradiates a starting material with light having a wavelength band of 245 to 360 nanometers (nm) in a solution containing an organic or inorganic base, and contains previtamin D 2 or previtamin D 3. And converting pre-vitamin D 2 or pre-vitamin D 3 obtained by heating the product to vitamin D 2 or vitamin D 3 . In various embodiments, these methods further comprise recovering vitamin D 2 or vitamin D 3 from the reaction as a purified product. [Selection] Figure 3 |
