Provided is a method for producing an isothiocyanate by thermal decomposition of an N-substituted-O-substituted thiocarbamate, which can be produced using a compound that is easy to handle. To do. The present invention relates to a method for producing an isothiocyanate using an organic primary amine and thiourea as raw materials, and reacting the organic primary amine and thiourea to produce a compound having thioureido group and ammonia.
