And an array of sensing electrodes accessible to the droplet path, each comprising a self-assembled monolayer and a capture probe, and an electrowetting grid and a plurality of interconnects from the sensing electrodes A biochip cartridge comprising a bottom substrate and a top plate having a conductive surface parallel to and coupled to the bottom substrate to form a reaction chamber.
