abstract An additive is provided that further reduces electrokinetically driven surface current associated with operating pressure in current fluid pressure systems. As a working fluid for use in a fluid pressure system, a phosphate ester-based compound and an additive including a redox pair including a metallocene pair are included. By reducing the magnitude of the spatially varying sweeping current, the electrokinetically driven surface current is reduced, providing a preferential path for both oxidation and reduction currents in the fluid pressure system.
