A photosensitized antibody-fluorophore conjugate is provided. The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for killing cells. In a particular example, the method comprises contacting a cell having a cell surface protein with a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody-IR700 molecule, wherein the antibody is a cell surface, such as a tumor specific antigen on the surface of a tumor cell. Specifically binding to the protein. Thereafter, the cells are irradiated with a dose of at least 1 Jcm −2 at a wavelength of 660 to 740 nm. In addition, for example, about 0 to 8 hours after irradiation of the cells, the cells are brought into contact with one or more therapeutic agents (such as anticancer agents), thereby killing the cells. Also provided is a method of imaging cell lethality in real time using fluorescence lifetime imaging. Also provided are wearable devices comprising clothing, jewelry, or coverings; and NIR LEDs incorporated into items that can be used with the disclosed methods. [Selection figure] None |
