titleOfInvention | Toner for developing electrostatic latent image and method for producing the same |
abstract | The present invention provides a toner for developing an electrostatic latent image that has sufficient chargeability in a normal temperature and normal humidity environment as well as in a high temperature and high humidity environment and has excellent high temperature offset resistance. Each of toner particles includes a toner core, a shell layer, and a plurality of wax particles. The shell layer 12 contains a resin and covers a part of the surface region of the toner core 11. The surface of the shell layer 12 has a sea area R2 and a plurality of island areas R1 each surrounded by the sea area R2. The sea region R2 has stronger hydrophobicity than each of the island regions R1. Each of the island regions R1 has a charging property stronger than that of the sea region R2. The wax particles include core externally added wax particles 13. The core externally added wax particles 13 are provided in a portion of the surface region of the toner core 11 exposed from the shell layer 12. The content of the wax particles in the toner is 1 part by mass or more and 35 parts by mass or less with respect to 100 parts by mass of the resin contained in the shell layer 12.
