titleOfInvention Method and kit for detecting cell-free pathogen-specific nucleic acid
abstract There remains a need for an early detection method for pathogens, such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, in individuals with high sensitivity and high specificity. [Solution] The present invention relates to a method for detecting a target nucleic acid derived from a pathogen in a subject. This method comprises the steps of: (a) amplifying a nucleic acid sequence of a target nucleic acid obtained from a cell-free fraction of a blood sample derived from a subject to generate double-stranded DNA; and (b) detecting double-stranded DNA. Including. The presence of double stranded DNA indicates the presence of the target nucleic acid in the subject. A kit for detecting a target nucleic acid from a pathogen in a subject is also provided. [Selection] Figure 3B
