abstract |
A novel method for marking a paper product and a paper product marked by the method are provided. Conditions selected to alter functional groups present on or in the cellulosic portion of the irradiated portion of the paper product so that the paper product is marked with markings that are not visible to the naked eye The electron beam beam is processed with ionizing radiation at a dose of at least 0.10 MRad brought about by the electron beam beam having an energy of at least 0.25 MeV.
