abstract |
A method for removing tritium oxide contaminants from a solution using water is provided. The isotopologue is separated from the mixed fluid of the isotopologue. Initially, a liquid stream comprising a mixture of a first isotopologue having a first freezing temperature and a second isotopologue having a second freezing temperature is provided. The freezing temperature of the first isotopologue is lower than the freezing temperature of the second isotopologue. In the filter capable of selectively capturing the second isotopologue such that at least a portion of the second isotopologue remains in the filter and the filtrate containing the first isotopologue exits the filter.
